No Lifting

It's been over a week now...8 days to be exact....i have to say...i like not lifting...it's nice. I feel fresh..never sore...vibrant even. However, I miss it. Lifting was the best way for me to burn out any aggression and unwanted energy in me. Plus, now, i'm afraid i'm gonna lose my girlish figure.

Yeah, i know, i'll get back into it as soon as my shoulder gets better (still haven't heard from the doctor on that one), but in the meantime...i think i'm gonna start cardio again tomorrow. Cardio and abs....if it worked for rocky in the russian terrain...it can work for me.

It was worth it

Well, I could have predicted this....but last nite with the upstairs of the house feeling like a wet wool sock...the girls couldn't sleep. So, as i lay motionless in bed at 12:30 as the slightest movement stings with my sunburn...i look up and see shelly staring at me asking if she can come into bed with me cause her room is too hot.

I wasn't going to fight it...not in these conditions, so i said "sure, come on in". So, i hear her go back to her room and turn off her closet light, which she keeps on...then i hear her go to the bathroom and then finally feel her jump into the other side of the bed.

I was laying there for a bit when all of a sudden i felt this little hand pry open the fingers of my hand and place itself into mine. It was shelly....i looked over at her and she had a big smile on her face and said "thank you daddy, i love you." Really was a sweet moment...Then of course 15 minutes later carly comes in and the next 45 minutes i hear the two of them fighting over who is stealing the blanket and who's leg is touching who's arm..etc...

so while the nite was uncomfortable to say the least...that little blurb from shelly made it worth it.

i'm goin home at 1..they are coming over to fix the AC....thankfully.

f'n computers

seriously..i just wrote a 10 paragrapgh blog on how sunburned i am..how pissed i have no ac..how the pistons lost tonight and how i'm on my 8th beer and am sweating my balls off as i type this....and then i deleted it....on accident...i'm one more "accident" away from going "bundy" So, here's the cliff notes version.

NO AC...the builder didn't charge the freon in the AC unit..so it's hotter then a hooker in church right now.

I'm sunburned..the pool in the sub opened...the girls love it...i'm crispy. they didn't have sunblock on either and are fun..you explain it. I should have been a pediatrist..seriously...kids are like f'n crop circles...no idea how they work

the stone's got screwed. 47 ft's to 22..seriously..Bullshit.

david stern: hey, it would be pretty hot to see the d. wade and shaq in the finals

nba refs assigned to game 4 in miami: how about if we double the free throw attempts in miami's favor?

david stern: you'll see a nice bonus in your paychecks next week...

I really do love the nba...but it's games like this that make it hard NOT to think they fix certain things for ratings and advertising....it's too bad.

Alright..my earlier post WAS sooooo good.. really a drunk rant...this one is so - so...but enjoy...i'm burned..

Eh, what are you gonna do?

I've got a separated AC joint in my shoulder per Dr. Wylie. What does that mean? Well 1) that it hurts and the reason mine hurt so much was because it was enflamed 2) Treating it with Motrin and Ice packs help a lot 3) No lifting weights for awhile, but i can play basketball and golf, but need to treat my shoulder immediately following. 4) i'll get the xray results next week to see if i need physical therapy.

Turns out there isn't much you can surgery wise for this which is kinda surprising since you can physically feel the joint sticking out of my shoulder. Apparently only "elite athletes" ever have this operated on...which of course sunk in for the 1000th time that i'm obviously not an elite athlete. So, we'll see..could be worse.

Memorial day weekend is this weekend and i've been invited to play tennis, to a party and to go boating all day...of which i'll probably only be able to play tennis. I can bring the girls to my tennis matches and they can shag the balls for me...however, going to the party and the lake ain't good ideas...i don't think they would enjoy it quite yet (i KNOW carly wouldn't) and we'd all leave miserable. I thought about getting a sitter so i could do the lake thing on Sunday...but i really haven't seen the girls much at all in the last week...and i won't be able to see them until 4pm saturday as they are at shan's friends house for the afternoon...so if i did get a sitter on sunday that means i'd only have for like 5 hours on sat nite and then monday afternoon and evening. So, i'm gonna choose to be with them...we'll find somethign to do...probably in the form of the new park equipment i saw going in next to the neighborhood pool the other day.

On a side note, I found a dead crayfish on my driveway this morning...thought that was kinda odd. All the rain and water must have coaxed the little fella out of mill creek and..unfortunately for him....under the tire of a garbage truck.

I'm falling apart

I've been having a nagging shoulder issue for several years now..both shoulders really. However it was pretty much just limited to minor discomfort when i roll over or lay on my side.

It's been intensifying as of late and last nite i couldn't sleep due to the pain...I know it's from lifting weights..and playing golf..and playing in my basketball league (we won 30-6 last nite)...and generallly just putting too much stress on it. I had an appt made for friday am with the doctor, but this morning i actually had to have shelly put carly's shoes on for her cause i couldn't generate enuff tork to get the heel of the shoe over her foot...it hurt too bad. So, i cahnged the appt to this afternoon...wish me luck...

On top of that...i think i'm developing arthritis in my left leg. the dr said a long time ago that with all the operations i had gone under and bone grafts and fractures, etc..that odds are i'd develop arthritis. I've felt a dull pain sporadically in my leg for many years...however over the past month now it's been fairly regular and fairly uncomfortable.

Bottom line: I'm breaking.

I'll have a full report tomorrow..i'm sure dramatized..should be a good read

STONES WON!!

Finally, the Pistons put away the Cavaliers today to advance and play Miami in the eastern conference finals. The series was billed as "Lebron James coming out party". When in reality the pistons just were lazy and nervous...which made me nervous. Lebron is a good player..probably the best in the league, but the pistons lack of interest was deplorable.

They sleep walked thru games 3-5 and it almsot cost them the series. They missed TONS of big shots they normally make..good open shots..and had unforced turnovers and missed free throw after missed free throw. They are fortunate..i hope they get their heads out of their asses for round 3.

Today they won simply because Lindsey Hunter came off the bench with ENERGY! Until he came into the game they were sleepwalking..he hit some big shots, got the crowd back into the game and really won it for em'.

As for the rest of my weekend, i hung out with the girls mostly...which was good..AND hit some SWEET garage sales. I spent $40 saturday morning at the big loch alpine sales and came away with the following goods:

1) and industrial plunger (i've documented Shelly's dueces more then once in this space, so you know why i was so excited to see this and buy it for only .25 cents!!)

2) A serving bowl for salads (50 cemts)

3) 2 small prints in frames for my bathroom (3.00)

4)4x6 area rug for the kitchen (15 dollars). This thing is sweet. It's an 80 dollar rug and goes PERFECTLY under my kitchen table.

5)4x6 bamboo rug(10 dollars). Again..SWEET!! Probably 100 dollars retail..it's awesome in my master bedroom...

6) 1 large printed frame of an old farmhouse which goes splendidly over my loveseat in the family room and 1 smaller printed frame of an old school yard at recess which is great next to my front door ( 5.00 combined)

7) a nice shelf for my kitchen (1.00) that is great over my kitchen table

8) two bamboo lookin' plants..(free). Not sure what to do with those yet...but they give my home more warmth

9) A little wooden girl that hangs in my garage next to my backdoor that says "Backdoor guests are the best". I bought it for comedic purposes...

Sure enuff..i sucked again!

Everything i was doing at the driving range i completely ignored come the actual game yesterday. I was nailing the ball at the driving range over and over and over again...then come tee time last nite..i blew ass. Poor bryan...my golf partner..he has patience...that's for sure. He finally said, "you know, everything we talked about at the range and you were doing really well completely went out the window today". Of which of course made me laugh. I'll get better..my contact was better...that's for sure. But man...there's a lot to think about..i need to relax. I'm gonna enjoy it tho..heck, i do now and i'm horrible!

couple opinions on some season finale's:

1) prison break: Awesome ending!! That show is always intense...Teabag got some retribution thrown his by abruzzi for slitting his throat earlier in the season in the form of abruzzi takin an axe and cutting off teabag's hand. nasty. The show ended in a way in that the prisoners missed the escape plane...the vp poisoned the president and took over the presidency of the united states...Lincoln burrows old girlfriend/attorney found the man that lincoln was framed for killing alive and well and the prisoners were running off thru a field while being chased by the police at the very end. Two of em' escaped cleanly..the white guy who acted black and haywire..one of my favorites on the show. Great finale..and they are stretchin' out the show for another year which is sweet!

2) The oc: There wasn't NEARLY as much build up to this years finale as there was to last years. We knew someone would die and pretty much the gneral consensus was that it was going to be marissa....sure enuff...it was marissa. She had been played out anyway...altho i was pulling for kirsten (the mom) to go..marissa can be replaced by her sister who is also even more slutty. Nice move Fox..nice move.

Alias finale' is monday night..moved from wednesday. ABC is treating that show like they just want it over with..seriously..move the show from it's regular time slot on wednesday for the finale'?? makes no sense and Lost's finale is wedensday which i can't wait for!!

Golf League

Well, i don't remember if i mentioned this or not, but i joined a golf league this summer. I want to get decent at golf since about all my friends play and i've turned down more invites to golf then can fill a warehouse. Plus the course is 2 miles down the road from my house and it gets me out of work early :)

So, the first two times i played..i sucked. I mean, really sucked...missed the ball constantly...chopped it..couldn't make contact directly, you name the sucky adjective and i filled it. So, i went to the driving range with my golf teamate bryan joffe yesterday..he watched what i was doing, gave me some pointers and i improved 1000% in 30 minutes hitting balls. I feel WAY better now about playing..altho it's gonna be cold, wet, windy and i'll suck again tonight...i'm lookin' forward to it. Smackin' the ball with some beers is a good time i've decided.

Golf is freakin' hard.

What i'm watchin....

This post really has no other good means other then to let me blab about what i like to watch on tv right now

1) The pistons playoff games: I always get into these. Big time. I'm a slappy for the 'stones come playoff time and the fact they've lost 2 in a row has me on edge. They shoudld get back the cavs and Bron Bron IF THEY CAN JUST HIT A FREAKIN' SHOT. Okay, that's off my chest..

2) Lost: My favorite show. This show has the best story telling of any i watch currently. It goes out of it's way to give itself that "water cooler" like atmosphere that makes people talk about what they saw and try to figure it out as well as anything. They even run commercials for it's website like it's part of the real show..very clever and the twists and tie in's are great. I can't wait for the finale'!!

3) The OC: This show is good even when it's bad. The finale' is this Thursday night and they are saying someone will "may not survive graduation night!!" Only on the OC!! Of course, only on the OC could Ryan Atwood move from 'Cino to Orange county next door to a smoking hot babe (who finally slutted it up last week with her clothes!) who's mom was married to the father of ryan's adopted OC mom. Little did they know Ryan was dating a girl at school who happened to be the daughter of said father of his adopted mother making him dating his old girlfriend marissa's stepsister on accident. OH, and now said ex-girlfriend marissa's mom is dating (since her step father's passing) her best friend Summer's mom...yep. Only on the OC!!

4) Prison Break: This show is great and it KILLS me i forget it's on every monday night. I even have a dvr and forget to record it...no excuse but for the fact i'm an idiot. I put it on half way thru the finale' last nite..uttered out an 'oh shit' and quickly set to record it (i'm watchin' the last half tonight). This show was well done..loved the actors..but i'm curious as to how they well stretch this show out for more then one year.

5) Alias: This show has left me with mixed feelings. It was THE show i watched. Then, when Sydney left to have her baby in real life with ben affleck, it went down the crapper..they killed off the main male lead vaughn and the story lines got all weird off the main "rimbaldi" angle. Now, the angle is back..vaughn is back..sydney is back..and sloan is evil...again. This show wraps up forever in just a few weeeks. I'll miss it...but it's time for it to go.

6) Porn...but that's on my computer mostly and i don't count that.

i'm guessing alcohol was involved...

Police use Taser
to subdue suspect
Police used a Taser to subdue a suspected drunken driver who refused to get out of his car during a traffic stop in Ann Arbor this morning, city police said.
Officers said the man made an improper right turn on red from Main Street onto westbound Stadium Boulevard shortly after midnight, and they attempted to make a traffic stop, reports said. The man continued driving to his home in the 1400 block of Kirtland Drive, where he pulled into his garage.
Police approached the man's car, and he said he couldn't understand why they were in his driveway, reports said. He refused to get out, and after an officer told him he didn't want the situation to get physical, the driver replied, "That's fine, let's rock,'' reports said.
Officers attempted to pull the man from the vehicle, and as he fought, one officer used his Taser, reports said. Outside the car, the continued to struggle and was shot with a Taser a second time, reports said. He then agreed to comply.
The 30-year-old man was taken to the University of Michigan Medical Center, where blood was drawn to test his alcohol content, reports said. He was released pending charges.

Do you have Satellite TV?? You must be a guy....

I got into a "debate" the other day. Basically it wasn't so much as to if it was true or not but as to why it may be true....Has anyone else ever noticed that men are WAY more likely to have satellite tv vs. women? I have zero statistical evidence of this...but i don't know any girl that has anything but cable tv. Why is that? Guys i'd say are more 50/50 when it comes to them having satellite or cable....it's like talking about pizza...it's good no matter what it is. But women? Nope..can't think of a single one that likes it..in fact, most that i've talked to will usually have a disparraging comment about it when they have the chance to 'slide it in'.

I have satellite tv. i like it. I like cable too. I really like the on demand thing thru comcast. However, the MAIN and really the ONLY reason i have satellite is for sports. I LOVE my nfl sunday ticket package. Love it. If that wasn't around, i'd be on cable still. Cost wise, i'm just a little cheaper for satellite vs. cable..nothin' big..just a little.

Now...why don't women like satellite over cable? My guess is one of the following..again..i have no evidence to back this up...

cable is easier: Simple..and true. Why get something that has way more options and buttons that a) you don't need and b) you'd never use?

More familiar with it: Cable has been around longer..nothing wrong with it..why fix it?

How women watch tv is different from how guys watch tv: Guys flip...a lot..God knows I do..i can't sit still during a commercial if i can't flip thru 30 more channels at the same time..women don't do that as often...

Of course i'm generalizing this..i'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts...

Bottom line is..as it is in most things that i base my decision on : I love football to the point it makes financial decisions for me now

a story and a gripe

Well, Friday i went to dinner at zukey..as forementioned with Fernando and Maria next door. Good time. Turns out they aren't from Mexico either. Fernando is from Colombia and came to the states on a tennis scholarship and maria is from brazil and came to teh states as a nanny. We had dinner, a few drinks and Fernando wanted to hit some bars in AA...which i wanted no part of...a hangover and two little girls SUCKS..as it did last weekend...so i passed on it. But i def like them. They are gonna be good neighbors..they are VERY in love. Like sickening in love..always touching either...hand holding..back rubs...calling each other baby...seriously..it's something. Turns out they dated for 5 months...were engaged and married with 9 months...Plus with her speaking portuguese and him spanish he tells me they can barely understand each other sometimes...which maybe in marraige is a good thing sometimes.

Now, my gripe. EVERY TIME i go to the grocery store i get behind a woman in her mid 40's or older. Every time i wait for it..wait for it..then BLAMO!! Out pops the checkbook. The checkbook adds 5 minutes to every checkout as it A) normally perplexes the cashier..B) requires photo ID and DL numbers and C) means the old bag in front of me takes the time to write the check and then go back and make the adjustment in her checkbook before moving!! Just completely rude. I use my bank/check card..which does the EXACT same thing. Use it as a credit card and the money comes right out of my checking acount like a CHECK DOES!! Then, i take the receipt home with me and adjust my checking book then.

Also, have you noticed that people really only pull out a checkbook at the grocery store? inever see this at dept stores, or anywhere else...odd.

Shoes

So...during the course of casual conversation it came up that the girl i was talking with had over 40 pairs of shoes. 40 PAIRS!!! I thought that was mindblowing...so, i asked some more girls...three more to be exact..and each one said they couldn't be sure..but from what they could "count from memory" They each had over 50 pairs!! 50 pairs!! Seriously....100 individual shoes....unreal...I mean..what do you do with that many shoes?

I have 6 pairs...2 of which i alternate for work...a nice pair of black shoes that i basically never wear....2 pairs i use to cut the grass in..which is ironic as i have no lawn right now to cut....and a pair of sandles...that's it....and that's MORE then enuff for me.

I think this is the scientific proof i've been waiting for all these years that all women are nuts...... If only they weren't so hot!! Damn them!!

Magnum P.I. Movie

I know i haven't written in awhile...not sure why. Just haven't gotten around to it...to sum up the past few days would be as follows:

Work is getting busier, so i haven't been dickin' around as much at the office
When i get home i'm tired and haven't been on the computer
i've had the girls
I think i'm getting sod in 2 weeks or less for my yard
had company over for multiple dinners
I'm hangin' out with fez and maria for dinner friday night (that will be a blog)
Shelly got sick..has "the diarrhea"

That sums it up..However, what spurred this post is i saw an article about plans for an upcoming magnum pi movie. i think "great!!! I love tom selleck!" however, the article was about how he has no role whatsoever in the movie...said he's too old at 61....which makes me feel old at 32.

Seriously..how do you make magnum P.I. without Tom Selleck? that would be like adam sandler in serious movie roles....or jamie foxx and colin ferrel in miami vice..wait..hollywood is so lame.
