a story and a gripe

Well, Friday i went to dinner at zukey..as forementioned with Fernando and Maria next door. Good time. Turns out they aren't from Mexico either. Fernando is from Colombia and came to the states on a tennis scholarship and maria is from brazil and came to teh states as a nanny. We had dinner, a few drinks and Fernando wanted to hit some bars in AA...which i wanted no part of...a hangover and two little girls SUCKS..as it did last weekend...so i passed on it. But i def like them. They are gonna be good neighbors..they are VERY in love. Like sickening in love..always touching either...hand holding..back rubs...calling each other baby...seriously..it's something. Turns out they dated for 5 months...were engaged and married with 9 months...Plus with her speaking portuguese and him spanish he tells me they can barely understand each other sometimes...which maybe in marraige is a good thing sometimes.

Now, my gripe. EVERY TIME i go to the grocery store i get behind a woman in her mid 40's or older. Every time i wait for it..wait for it..then BLAMO!! Out pops the checkbook. The checkbook adds 5 minutes to every checkout as it A) normally perplexes the cashier..B) requires photo ID and DL numbers and C) means the old bag in front of me takes the time to write the check and then go back and make the adjustment in her checkbook before moving!! Just completely rude. I use my bank/check card..which does the EXACT same thing. Use it as a credit card and the money comes right out of my checking acount like a CHECK DOES!! Then, i take the receipt home with me and adjust my checking book then.

Also, have you noticed that people really only pull out a checkbook at the grocery store? inever see this at dept stores, or anywhere else...odd.
