What is a "major" holiday?
So, today is my birthday. I decided to take the girls to TGIF's which is one my favorite places. Never had a bad meal at that place. I had the cheesy bacon cheeseburger which features FRIED PROVOLONE on top of all the other goodness it offers. Here's my list of things that are better then Fried Provolone, or any other cheese for that matter:
1. Sex
That's it.
So, anywho, we got our free dessert there and went to PUTTERZ for some mini-golf with the girls. They've never been and it sounded like a good thing to do on a birthday with two little kids. So, we get there, with a free one round coupon in tow. On the coupon I noted it said "excluding major holidays". Of which, I thought "labor day is a holiday..but is it like Christmas? No. Is it like Easter? No. Is it like Fourth of July? No. I'd put it behind Memorial Day too...The reason I thought it would be good though is that the coupon actually mentions two holiday's it's not good for. Valentine's Day and Mother's Day of all things. So, I figure Labor day, it would be good.
Nope.
Apparently it's been an issue as they had an exact copy of the coupon BLOWN UP and photo copied with the words "MAJOR HOLIDAYS EXCLUDED" Circled in red. So i asked the natural question.."Labor Day is a major Holiday?" To which the owner, which i've seen before said "yes, i guess it is." Which frankly made me angry as the coupon obviously has done them some good business or else they wouldn't have made it a point to showcase it the way they had on the main counter. So, i followed up with the next most natural question "What's a Minor Holiday? Like Sweetet Day?" He just shrugged and said "I don't know." It's only $5, not exactly a death blow to my financial future. It was the principal. Again, they had the coupon front and center so it's been a common issue obviously and to make it a point NOT to honor it just kinda sucks i think. Shame on you Putterz.
Shelly got a hole in one though. MAde her day. It was pretty cute. So, i'm sure we'll go back. I'll just make sure we go on Flag Day or Boxing Day or something that is sure to be considered a "minor holiday".
Oh, Shan, the girls and Elaine and all chipped in and got me a vacuum for my birthday..and quite frankly..i'm excited. Yes, i hire someone to come clean my house cause i'm HORRIBLE at it, but i still need to vaccum and this thing freakin' rocks. I've already got a name for the ole' gal. I call her "Cinnamon" as it's red and sounds like a strippers name cause if my vacuum were a hooker it could suck a golf ball through a garden hose. It's that good. I thought my floors were pretty clean, but after "Cinnamon" got through with em' her dual twister oxygenation method picked up about 1 cubic pound of dirt and fuzz. PHENOMENAL.
It's easy to use...no bags...just detach the plastic cannister, dump out the dirt and re-attach it. It's awesome.
Yes, that was two paragraphs on a vacuum. And yes, it's sad I get excited for a vacuum...but hey, I needed it.
I also got two tickets for a tigers game (looking forward to that!) and $100 from my dad for a garage door opener which i need to make my next project. Oh, and Shelly got me a mum. It's purple. She was very proud of it.
That's it. I'm takin' a birthday nap and then wakin' up, making dinner, and having 4 or 5 birthday beers!
