Megatron a Tank??

This Post is gonna really out me, but i'm cool with it. I had an unhealthy mancrush on transformers when i was boy. Loved the cartoon, loved the toys..i think i may have written on it before, but something i saw the other nite made me feel all funny inside..and not good funny...angry funny.

While watching cartoons with shelly and carly the other nite i saw a commercial for new transformers toys. Optimus Prime and Megatron..the two main characters. Optimus (yes, we are on a first name basis) is still a semi-truck, but megatron is no longer his deadly luger type handgun, he's a tank.

WTF?

Megatron is a tank? Seriously..he's a freakin' gun!!! Not a tank!! I want to see the bad ass mo'fo from the picture above!! Not some girly tank!! Anywho, my brother made the note that perhaps it's his logical evolution as a character as he started off transorming into a hangun, then into a three legged laser rifle and now a tank..and that argument does make sense...but that also would be like saying the logical evolution of Soundwave would be to turn into a toaster oven. ugh.

Same time....i watched the old transformers movie on dvd the other nite. And ya know what? Besides the older animation, horrible soundtrack and outdated dialogue, the movie still sucked me in big time. This movie i saw in the theater and still am not over the shock i experienced when I heard Spike utter "Shit!" or Ultra Magnus said "Damn it!" those things just didn't happen in cartoons back then. There was an audible gasp from the audience when that happened! (turns out the reason was they wanted the movie to be pg to get a larger audience, so they included some heavier language and multiple deaths of main characters of the franchise).

Bottom line, i miss that show...the nostalgia, the time my brother and I got Jetscream for Christmas and the other time my brother got a transformer and i got a Gobot. Which was like asking for a Coke and getting an RC Cola at the time. Thanks dad, that still sticks with me.

Anywho, i'm 33. That's enuff of this talk.
