Disgusting

Read the following horrifying review....on "Bareback Mountain" as i call it..

Playing Jack Twist was admittedly a challenge for Gyllenhaal. Yes, Twist is a closeted gay cowboy living in an era and setting where he couldn't be public about his feelings. But he's also a charismatic charmer who coaxes out an incredibly quiet and intense Ennis (Heath Ledger). Actors tend to wince when asked about "chemistry" with a co-star -- they are actors after all; they are paid to make it appear natural. But, Gyllenhaal and Ledger (who gives a career-defining performance) obviously have something special on screen in "Brokeback." Moviegoers have to believe their relationship would last for decades, and the early (and only) love scene is a big test in that regard.
\r\n "The best metaphor I can give [on doing the scene] is that \r\n it felt like ... when you\'re terrified of the water, you see a \r\n little kid thrown in and they\'re trying to get back to the \r\n boat as fast as they can," Gyllenhaal says. "But at the same \r\n time, when we were there, we really went for it. We knew we \r\n had to consummate this somehow. It couldn\'t just be a story \r\n about friendship, because there\'s a part of two people \r\n connecting intimately, sexually, that drives that intimacy \r\n through the years." Still, Gyllenhaal\'s take on \r\n both characters differs from the film\'s director, producer, \r\n screenwriter and Annie Proulx, who wrote the original short \r\n story on which the movie is based. It may also frustrate some \r\n of his and the movie\'s fans.\r\n "I think it surprises people when I say, \'I think these two \r\n guys are straight, and yet they find each other somewhere.\' \r\n And I think that people are like, \'What\'s that mean?\' \r\n and ... I don\'t really know. I just think that we\'re both \r\n being somewhere -- servicing a story that is so much bigger \r\n than both of us and everybody involved."\r\n Audiences and critics may not agree with Gyllenhaal\'s \r\n evaluation of Jack and Ennis\' sexuality, but they will be hard \r\n pressed not to praise his \r\n performance.\r\n\r\n",0]

I really don't know where to begin with this..so much to say...first of all...Who in the name of Abe Vigoda thought makin' a flick about 2 gay cowboys would go over? Now, i can see women going to see this...but if any guy EVER sees this movie they have something wrong. Seriously. I mean, this would be the worst date flick ever. I can't even imagine my reaction if I knew someone who got dragged to this flick by their old lady...The best line of the review to me is the part how "Jack Twist was a cowboy who lived in an era where it wasn't acceptable to come out with his sexuality..." WHEN DID THAT ERA END?? That could destroy every cowboy song ever written..and one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite all time songs "Every Rose has it's Thorn" By Poison.."Every Cowboy..sings a sad, sad song..." ugh..it makes me sick now.

Of course, the unintentional comedy is at a 10 out of 10 when the cowboy's names are Jack Twist and Ennis. The name Jack is connotative on it's own..Twist is even worse..and the other character's name rhymes with Penis?? I don't know why i haven't written a screenplay yet....

The real troublesome thing to me is this flick will get oscar mention as well as the actors cause it's a unique roll..i mean come on. You may as well give the Oscar to Jackie Chan for best adaptation of a novel if you give these guys a nomination..alright, i'm done. I'm a little upset about it..but on the bright side it did get Viggo Mortensens' "nut face" out of my mind from the movie "History of Violence" shudder....
